People still love Black and White

Almost all photos today are taken digitally and in colour. But there's something about black and white photography that captures people's hearts. It has a romance and perhaps a nostalgia to it that people love. Analyzing it, I think colour can sometimes be distracting. The absence of colour means you automatically focus on the subject, the shapes and the overall mood and content. Whatever it is, I convert a lot of photos to black and white. (Yes, all my photos start out in colour, then I remove the colour.) Instead of diminishing, I think it enhances them.
