My love for wedding photography

I know many photographers who won't do weddings. They say they don't like the pressure. They're worried they might screw something up, and there's only one chance to get the shot. I know secretly some of them just don't like working with people.

I love wedding photography. I love the idea that I'm capturing lifelong memories for people. I love the spontaneity, the challenge of getting great shots under sometimes adverse conditions.

Overall, I think, weddings are tailor made for great photos. I mean, how can you go wrong? You have beautiful people, a beautiful setting, they're in the midst of the happiest day of their life; basically you have all the elements for a perfect photo shoot.

Virtually all the people I've done weddings for weren't models. In fact, most of them didn't like getting their pictures taken. So how do I deal with that? Just putting people at ease is the key. I keep things loose and casual and fun. That way people often forget they're even being photographed and their natural feelings come through. And that makes for the best photos and the best memories.
